For performance, it is adequate. It is less powerful than the old KZ 1000 I had, but a lot of bikes are. The VTX 1300 will not win many drag races but it is a torquey motor and has plenty of get up and go. … All in all this is a sexy looking bike with nice power and Honda reliability.
The 1300 has 1 38mm Carburetor… Oddly, the 1100 Shadow has 2 36mm… I was told by my mechanic the only advantage to the 2 Carb Set-up is at higher RPM…
It was a three-valves-per-cylinder design and employed a single 38 mm constant-velocity carburetor. The ignition was a digital setup with three-dimensional mapping and two spark plugs per cylinder. The big V-twin hooked up to a five-speed transmission and a shaft final drive.
The 1300 engine used a 38 mm constant velocity carburetor unlike the fuel injected 1800. The single carb had a manual choke for cold starts, and was heated by engine coolant to improve cold-weather operation. … VTX1300.

There will be a sticker on the side of the lower left frame, or on the headstock telling that information. You will have either a C, R, S, or N model.
The VTX1300C has briefer fenders and a generally more steramlined look than the S. The S rides on the same basic platform with the same engine, but has a retro style. Honda had to make the pipes slightly longer on the S because of longer head-pipe routing around the additional bodywork up front.

Turn the A/F screw in until lightly seated, then back out to about 2 turns.. That’ll help the cold low idle speed.. These bikes do idle higher when warmed up versus cold startup….
It’s a D-shaped screw behind the fuel bowl near where the carb connects to the intake manifold.

So, were those just old stock, or did they start making it again??? I didn’t look at them that closely, so I don’t know what year model they were. Those are old leftover stock… I think the last year for the 1800 was 2008, and the last year for the VTX 1300 was 2009…
The Honda Fury was introduced in 2009 and continues to be in production till today, standing apart from the rest of the motorcycles because it was the first production chopper brought out by Honda.
